Some seasons just take it out of you. Not one big disaster, just the slow weight of hard days stacking up. When I'm there, I don't need a pep talk. I need to remember that my strength was never supposed to be the thing holding me up.
Here are Bible verses about strength and hope that I come back to. Read them slow, especially if you're tired.
When you have nothing left
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)
This one gets put on gym walls, but in context Paul is talking about being content whether he has plenty or nothing. It's endurance strength, not superhero strength.
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me." (Psalm 28:7)
When you're out of hope
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)
"...weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5)
Nights are real. So is the morning.
When you want to give up
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9)
"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." (Proverbs 31:25)
A few honest words
Verses aren't a fix. I've said that before and I'll keep saying it. But they do reset where you're looking. When I feel weak, these remind me that weakness isn't the end of the story, it's usually where God does his best work.
If your mind is the thing wearing you down, our verses about anxiety and worry are worth a read, and so is Psalm 46:10, be still and know.
And if a reminder you can wear helps you keep going, that's a lot of why we make what we make. The JLY Jesus Loves You hoodie and the Hold Your Horses tee both carry that kind of message. You can see everything here. Keep going. The morning is coming.
